These lamps are created using slabs of stoneware formed and thinned without the use of a mechanical roller or machinery. Each lamp is carefully crafted using traditional methods, ensuring a unique and one-of-a-kind piece. The clay is stretched, cut, trimmed and fastened entirely by hand.

Once fabricated, the piece is dried slowly over two to three weeks (depending on the weather) before being fired in an electric kiln to 1828 degrees Fahrenheit. The piece is then glazed, and fired a second time to 2232 degrees Fahrenheit.

These "Tear Drip" lamps are created by layering coats of glaze that when fired appear from the kiln as if forged in metal. Molten bubbles and streaks form on the surface and impart texture to capture and suspend light and time.
